Volunteer Work Programs Thailand
We are looking for a group of friends (or solos!) to come over to Thailand to help build homes for two elderly women. Both ladies are living in tin shacks at present. We aim to build them a simple home with an inside bathroom and electricity.

We will be building a house from scratch with the support of local Thai workers. There will be certain technical jobs volunteers will be unable to help with, but our aim is for you to be involved in every stage of the project.

Starfish has so far bought them a bed, mosquito net, fan, clothes, bed cover, food supplies plus built them a fish pond (for food or sale in the market) and made a vegetable garden. We couldn’t have done this without the money volunteers pay when they volunteer. You don’t need any previous experience, just lots of enthusiasm and energy and up for a challenge (and getting your hands dirty) We can give you advice on fundraising techniques too to help you raise money for this venture.

Volunteer Travel and Fun
The project is based out in Surin, about 8 hours northeast of Bangkok. Surin is a peaceful, non touristy spot of Thailand
where you’ll experience real Thai life. There’s a lot to do in the region including visiting Asian elephants, silk villages and
ancient ruins plus Starfish now also provide extra activities for volunteers such as learning to plant rice the Thai way and
staying overnight with a local family.

Accommodations are in a basic but comfortable house in Surin. You’ll have access to bikes to easily get around the region too plus our Thai co-ordinator will be nearby to make sure you’re okay and feel welcome in Thailand.

This is a unique grassroots project where you’ll make a real difference to two people’s lives.
